Quotidien doesn't collect anything about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of ours for your data to sit on.

Where your quotes live

The quotes you save, the themes you set up and your reminder times are stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database. That is what keeps them in sync between your iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is your iCloud storage, tied to your Apple Account — we have no access to it and no way to read what's in it.

If you turn iCloud off, everything stays on the device and simply doesn't sync. Deleting the app deletes its local copy; to remove the synced copy as well, use Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

The camera and your photos

Scanning a quote from a book or pulling one out of a photo happens entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device text recognition. Nothing is uploaded, and images aren't kept — only the text you choose to save.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled locally by your device. They are not push notifications, so no server is involved and nothing leaves your phone to send one.

What we never see

No analytics or crash-reporting SDK is built into the app. There are no third-party trackers. We don't know how many quotes you have, which ones you read, when you open the app, or that you use it at all.

Purchases

If you buy anything in the app, Apple handles the transaction and tells the app only whether the purchase is active. We never receive your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
